La Dimora di Costanza is the new Emma Villas property in Langhe area!

La Dimora di Costanza, today an enchanting and charming residence in the heart of the Langa, was an 18th century country farmhouse.

The approx. 300 sq m house has been given new life through the devotion of the current owner who has dedicated many years to its restructuring, with great attention to the smallest details. The décor includes furniture from the 18th to the early 20th centuries, embellished with Indian and African carpets, painted iron headboards, antique linen and cotton. The peculiarity of La Dimora di Costanza is the contemporaneous presence of very diverse rooms, large suites with sitting rooms alternating with captivating alcoves, composing a varied carousel of rooms on various levels, all characterised by an antique rustic style in which stone, terracotta and antique wood prevail. The atmosphere that you breathe in is warm and welcoming. On the basement floor is the old wine cellar where it is possible to book tastings for a charge; a small spa area with two saunas (Swedish and infrared), free of charge, showers and a room for massages that can be booked for a charge. The garden, enclosed in an old courtyard with lush vegetation containing rows of grapes, wisteria, boxwood as well as delicate bluebells, and the delightful pool framed at the end of it by a pergola covered by a grape vine, invites you to relax and enjoy the Italian dolce vita. The location of La Dimora di Costanza is enviable: it is, in fact, located in the old medieval borgo of Bossolasco, also known as the town of roses for its more than 300 rose plants and also referred to as La Perla delle Langhe.

Interior

The house has two floors as well as the basement. On the ground floor, the main entrance leads right into the big living room with large windows overlooking the internal courtyard, beyond which a corridor leads to a suite consisting of a double bedroom (with divisible bed), sitting room and en-suite bathroom with shower. A 9-step staircase leads up to a suite consisting of a double bedroom (with divisible bed) with en-suite bathroom with shower, sitting room and a further bathroom with shower. From the main entrance you proceed to the big, well-equipped eat-in kitchen with large terrace facing the courtyard, and to the corridor with guest bathroom and the large dining room connected to the kitchen through a small service room. In the corridor is a staircase leading up to the first floor with, on the right, the laundry room and, on the left, a double bedroom (with divisible bed) with en-suite bathroom with shower, and a suite on 2 levels with a sitting room on the first level and, on the upper level, a double bedroom (with divisible bed) with a bathtub in the room and en-suite bathroom with shower. On the left, going up two steps, you come to another corridor that leads, on the right, to a single bedroom with en-suite bathroom with tub and, on the left, to a triple suite on two levels consisting of a single bedroom with bathroom with shower on the first level and, on the upper level, a double bedroom (with divisible bed) with en-suite bathroom with tub. Returning to the corridor on the ground floor, a staircase leads down to the basement with the old wine cellar with a well and the relaxation area with 2 saunas (Swedish for 4 people and infrared for 2 people), a massage cabin and two showers. From here you have direct access to the external courtyard and the swimming pool. The courtyard and the pool are also accessible through the terrace attached to the kitchen.

Location

The little town of Bossolasco, enjoying a heathy and breezy climate from atop a hill 800 m above sea level, looks out over rows of fine wine grapes such as Barolo which is produced in this area. The culture of wine and culinary excellences of the region have made this town a centre of attraction for Italian and foreign quality tourism. Typical local products include Piedmont hazelnuts cultivated in plantations present in the area, honey and cheeses. In the woods can be found truffles, porcini mushrooms, chestnuts, blackberries and spring officinal herbs such as valerian and thyme. Bossolasco is synonymous with good cuisine and the natural ingredients offered by the surrounding nature can be enjoyed in the hospitable restaurants, trattorias and agriturism structures in the town and surrounding area. Typical dishes of the Langhe cuisine are ravioli al plin, bagna cauda, wild boar, polenta, bunet and hazelnut cake. Here Piedmontese cattle are bred and cheeses of the highest quality are produced, such as the Langhe toma, praised in antiquity by Pliny and today served with a traditional sauce made with walnuts, grape must, pears and toasted hazelnuts. The area boasts numerous wineries, wine producers and wine bars that can be visited along the famous “Strada del Barolo”, an itinerary sprinkled with castles, manor houses and old hilltop borghi. We are in the realm of the great wines of the Langhe and Roero.
