Four Villas of Up to 15 Beds
The four villas below are all within the 15-bed limit and, in their listings, offer spaces made for the table and for the cooler months: a practical base for enjoying the complimentary wine box.
VILLA LE FONTANE 12 – Sleeps 12 (6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms)
A stone farmhouse on two levels, 5 km from Todi, with two wine cellars set in niches beside the staircase and three fireplaces (living room, kitchen and lounge). It sleeps 12 in six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and has grounds of about 3 hectares. Spoleto is 42 km away, Assisi 57.
DALMANUTA 8 – Sleeps 8 (4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms)
A renovated former farmhouse at the foot of Monte Peglia, with a wood-fired oven, two porches with living areas and an outdoor dining table. About 6,000 of its 8,000 m² of land are planted with olive trees. Todi is 22 km away, Perugia 38 and Orvieto 46; the living-room fireplace is decorative and heating is extra.
VILLA LA POIANA 10 – Sleeps 10 (5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms)
An exposed-stone residence in the Chianti Classico area, with views over olive trees and vines and a large living-room fireplace facing the valley. Outside there is a dining area with a barbecue, shaded by large umbrellas. Castellina in Chianti is 4.5 km away; access is along about 3 km of unpaved road and heating is metered.
L’ALCOVA 8+2 – Sleeps 8+2 (4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms)
A farmhouse on a plateau at 580 m between Val d’Orcia and Valdichiana, 800 m from Sarteano. The living-room fireplace works and the covered wooden porch has a small kitchen, a barbecue and a dining table. Montepulciano is 17 km away, Pienza 29; heating is extra.
Spring and October in the Villa: What to Expect
March, April, May and October are shoulder months. In the four villas of this guide the pool is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October: in March and for almost all of October it cannot be used, which is worth considering when choosing a villa for the complimentary wine box.
