We are already in the second week of summer and the high temperatures are proof of this. Sitting in your office, all you do is dream of the moment you will be on vacation. So if you are among those who have not yet chosen a destination, let us take care of it for you …

Apulia and Villa Rudy

Surrounded by the fabulous waters of the Adriatic and Ionian seas, this region has some of the most renowned maritime towns and seaside resorts in Italy.

Villa Rudy is located in Castellana Grotte in the province of Bari, just 12 km from the east coast and only about twenty minutes away by car you will find places such as:

  • fascinating Monopoli, renowned for its numerous churches, its historic town centre full of people with a ”gate” connecting it to the old port of the town and all its solitary beaches and coves (among the most beautiful is ”Cala Porta Vecchia” just a few steps from the town centre).
Monopoli – Bari (Apulia)

  • Polignano a Mare (14 km from Villa Rudy), one of the most popular destinations in Apulia, a medieval borgo sprawled on a rock that juts out into the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic. The famous cove of Lama Monachile represents the crux of the beauty of this place and in fact, from here, you have a panorama that will take your breath away.
Lama Monachile – A small cove known for its crystal clear waters and pebble beach, flanked by stunning rugged cliffs.

  • An hour by car from Villa Rudy will take you to the regional capital, Bari. Here, walking through the streets of this fascinating old city, an unmissable stop is via delle orecchiette, a hidden place where past and present mix. Crossing through the low arch, you will leave the Norman-Swabian Castle behind you and enter a place where you can observe the women intent in making this ancient pasta. You can then get lost in the alleys, letting yourself be conquered by the art and architecture that characterise this city.
Orecchiette – a type of pasta typical of the regions of Apulia and Basilicata, whose shape is approximately that of little ears (orecchiette), hence the name.

Villa Rudy is located in a rural context that allows guests to enjoy a holiday in total tranquillity; comfortable armchairs arranged with care by the pool allow guests to relax and admire the setting sun.

A wonderful veranda on the first floor, accessible both from the house and from the garden, is ideal for dining together with family and friends.

Interior

The villa has three floors, characterised by comfortable furniture and pretty trimmings that favour a homely relaxed atmosphere.

On the ground floor is the classically-tasteful living area, with fireplace and dining room. There is also a bar area dedicated to the family’s famous Monopoli coffee bar, with the original “Gran Caffè Rudy 1860″ sign.

Internal stairs lead up to the first floor consisting of a kitchen, a living room with a large fireplace, two double bedrooms, both with private bathroom with shower, and another double bedroom (which can be converted into a twin on request), with private bathroom with shower, and a terrace.

On the second, attic, floor, reached by the stairs located in the first-floor living room, is the deluxe double suite, with private bathroom, shower and particular central tub, and kitchenette with induction hob.

Park

Villa Rudy is surrounded by a 2000 sq m private garden with typical plants such as holm oaks, cork and olive trees, laurel bushes and flowers. Completely fenced and shielded to ensure complete privacy for guests, the garden is well-kept and enriched with colourful ornamental plants.

The swimming pool, which can be heated on request, is open all year round and is located about 5 m from the house and is purified with salt. Measuring 4 x 10 m, the pool has two relaxation areas with hydromassage in the lower part.
