The Monte San Bartolo Park is one of the 4 parks in the Marche region on the border with Emilia Romagna. This park is characterized by cliffs and caves that are located along this promontory that extends from the low sandy coast of Romagna to the Marche. This area of the Adriatic coast is able to meet all the client’s needs, being equipped with a wide range of services. Moreover, thanks to its vast road network, it is easily reachable from both the north and south and perfectly located for making day excursions to explore the natural beauties of the hinterland.

The Park is characterised mainly by the stretch of high coast, largely represented by living cliff, rare throughout the Adriatic. The rest of the protected territory is made up of a rural landscape that, up until the 1950s, was actively cultivated even in places that would be unthinkable today, right at the edge of the sea.  Colle San Bartolo thus presents two distinct environments: the cliff on the sea side and the internal side.

The cliff emerges from the shallow sea waters and from narrow pebble beaches like a wavy succession of spurs and valleys, interspersed by sheer cliff faces. The summits of the relief, which reach 200 metres, allow a broad view over the coast and the Adriatic and constitute an unusual landscape compared to the sandy coasts typical of Romagna and the northern Marche. At the base of the hill stretches a narrow beach of shingle and pebbles formed by the demolition and collapse of the overhanging cliff faces.

The rural scenery in the part that slopes gently down towards the Strada Statale Adriatica (Adriatic State Road), conveys a sense of harmony, a sort of vital and pleasant intertwining amongst the cultivations, the abandoned fields reclaimed by nature and the rows of trees and hedges.

The Adriatic is the northernmost sea in the Mediterranean. Together with the other seas, it contributes in making this basin one of the areas with the greatest degree of biodiversity on the planet.

The Northern Adriatic represents the northernmost part, contained between the Gulf of Trieste and an imaginary line stretching between the towns of Ancona and Zadar.

It is a shallow sea that rarely reaches depths of 100 metres while in some areas it is barely 15/20 metres deep, with an average depth of about 30 metres.

The ecosystem of the North Adriatic Sea is one of the most productive in the Mediterranean; its high eutrophication supports one of the most profitable fishing activities but also constitutes one of its main stress factors.

Villa Vallugola is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating houses in the whole area of the Monte San Bartolo Park. The exterior of the semi-detached villa is particularly intriguing with a unique feature, a large use of exposed wooden beams for the portico that blend in well with the external teak deck surrounding the pool. The result is really surprising and unusual for the typical taste of this area of the Mediterranean. The name of the property derives from the famous Vallugola beach, just 400 metres away and reachable on foot along a private shaded pathway, set in the Monte San Bartolo natural park between Emilia Romagna and the Marche. A few minutes away by car are the characteristic medieval villages of Casteldimezzo and Fiorenzuola di Focara, overlooking the sea, or the marvellous historic town centre of Urbino, a UNESCO heritage site.

Villa Vallugola is the ideal destination for those wishing to visit the many localities of the Adriatic Riviera with its lively nightlife. The variegated vegetation and the splendid views of the Adriatic coast are certainly aspects that will remain in the memory of those who holiday there. The private pool, equipped with comfortable sunbeds, is perfect for relaxing outdoors and essentially represents the entrance into the portico surrounding Villa Vallugola, capable once again of surprising the most attentive traveller with a combination of contemporary and traditional style, well balanced and never over the top.

Book this beautiful villa and immerse yourself in the extraordinary trails of the Park, or relax at the water’s edge, lulled by the gentle waves!
