In the land of the Gallo Nero, symbol of classic Chianti wine and of the excellent Sienese tradition of wine production, stands this spacious residence inspired by authentic Tuscan architectural tradition.

Villa Poggio Bonelli is surrounded by boundless screens of vines designing a geometrical harmony that stretches as far as the eye can see.

Located in a farm estate that is the pride of Chianti, it is surrounded by a manicured park with an exclusive pool lying in the most panoramic and tranquil part of the estate.

The complex consists of a building that was originally a farmhouse (which includes a large hall and a super-equipped technical kitchen) and an annex, capable of accommodating up to 18 people in the air-conditioned bedrooms.

Around the buildings, the greenery and flowers of the extensive garden, the numerous shady relaxation areas, the large portico for companionable meals, the outdoor kitchen with wood oven and barbecue, provide the setting for days spent in the tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside.

We are less than 20 km from Siena, in a perfect position for visiting the entire Chianti region, dotted with numerous castles transformed into wineries and medieval borghi, where splendid landscapes and old buildings will enthrall you.

This farm, with its predominantly biological vocation, produces the best that Tuscany can offer and continues, with modern methods, to maintain the taste of authentic tradition: excellent extra virgin olive oil and a delectable wine, fruit of native and non-native vines in the aromas of Sangiovese and which can be tasted in the multi-purpose room adjacent to the farmhouse.

Upon request, it is also possible to organise typical cooking lessons in the large professional kitchen and to have in-house serving staff and chefs for the entire stay.

NB. In an adjoining annex, lives the discreet caretaker who is available for any needs or requirements of the guests.

The house is surrounded by 50 hectares of land, including an extensive woodland area, truffle grounds and endless fields of vines and olive trees along which you can walk or play games surrounded by nature.

The park belonging to the villa extends over approximately 3500 sq m, and includes terracotta-paved areas, with seats and tables, and lawn areas embellished with tall trees and bushes of herbs.

In the courtyard in front of the main entrance, under the shady portico, is a dining area with tables and chairs while, just a few steps around the back, and also accessible from the main kitchen, is the outdoor kitchen with stone barbecue and wood oven.

The two terraces on the first floor of the house and the pergola in front of the entrance to the annex are pleasant relaxation areas, where you can retire to admire beautiful panoramic views over the green hills.

Swimming Pool

The completely fenced-in swimming pool is set in the most private and panoramic area of the property, about 12 m from the house on a lower terrace and is reached along a few steps across the central part of the park opposite the house and down a short flight of steps.

The rectangular pool measures 7 x 14 m with a constant depth of 1.50 m.

Lined in PVC with the edge in wooden flooring, it has a metal ladder for access to the water, chlorine purification and internal lighting, which is also present throughout the surrounding area.

The sunbathing area on the lawn is equipped with umbrellas, tables, sunbeds, a gazebo and a cold-water shower.

The pool is open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October.

Location

The historical region of Chianti which is situated right in the centre of Tuscany, between north of Florence, Siena and the south of Arezzo and finally east of the towns of Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti.

This area constitutes a particularly important centre of attraction for the numerous historical testimonies of a past dating back to the Etruscan era.

Furthermore, the prestige that this area enjoyed in the Renaissance era is testified by the numerous medieval castles, all perfectly preserved, that can be seen along the famous “road of the castles”.

From Gaiole, in fact, it is possible to choose from numerous itineraries that lead to the surrounding castles.

The Chianti countryside is perfect for horseback riding in the tranquillity of the vast network of paths and unpaved roads which meander through the woods and hills and it also permits visitors to explore the abundance of food and wine that characterizes this area.

Here, too, a series of itineraries lead to the exploration of the ancient Tuscan flavours skilfully produced by the local growers.

The proximity of the airports Florence, Pisa and e allow easy access to this region as does the motorway A1 exit at Firenze Impruneta and Valdichiana which easily connects the hamlets in the Chianti area, Radda, Greve, Castellina, Volpaia etc. and the rest of Tuscany.

The closer train station is Siena.
