1 – Birthplace of Italian

Tuscany had a very significant role during the Italian Renaissance and it was an important cultural center. The Italian we speak today is based upon the Tuscan dialect which was formed during the Renaissance period.

2 – Tuscany: the first region to adopt pavements

Tuscany, ad especially Florence, have always been the cornerstone of beauty and elegance in Italy. During the Renaissance period, Tuscany enjoyed a flourishing economy. On the initiative of the wealthy bankers and merchants who live in Tuscany, it was decided to pave the street in order to improve road traffic. This trend was then brought to the rest of Europe.

3 – UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Tuscany has seven heritage sites of UNESCO and for this reason it is a destination that must be seen once in a lifetime. The UNESCO heritage sites are: the historic center of Florence, the Duomo of Pisa, the historic center of San Gimignano, the historic center of Siena, the historic center of Pienza, the landscape of the Val d’Orcia, the Medici’s villas and gardens.



4 – Chiantishire

Tuscany is a great wine production and the territory is scattered with vineyards. Particularly in the famous Chianti area there is a production of red wine that is appreciated all over the world.

This area is particularly beloved by the English people, so much that it was nicknamed “Chiantishire”.

5 – The Tuscan bread

Tuscan food is delicious and it is characterized by poor but very tasty recipes. One of the most important product of the Tuscan culinary tradition is bread. Our bread has the characteristic of beig salt-free. This is likely to be adapted to suit tasty dishes such as ham, ribollita or pappa al pomodoro.

According to an ancient legend, the origin of salt-free bread lies in the strong rivalry between Pisa and Florence in the Middle Ages. The Pisani began to increase the salt taxes and the people of Florence decided to start producing bread without salt in order to overcome the problem.
